Hamburg Salon 1672 with Matthias Weckmann

Event closed

Matthias Weckmann was one of the great improvisors of his time, he was a celebrated organist, a master church music composer and the founder of the original Collegium Musicum.  On this occasion we will gather at the home of Dick and Lee Hardaway and enjoy a salon performance by Andrus Madsen of music by Weckmann and music he would have played had you heard him play in the 1670s in Hamburg.  The program will include mostly works by Weckmann, and will also include works by Weckmann's friends and colleagues Johann Jakob Froberger and Heinrich Scheidemann.
