This is a traditional Burns Night Supper in memory of Scotland's national poet Robert Burns!!
The Octorara Covenanter Presbyterian Foundation cordially invites you to Burns Night at Historic Beale Manor 2024.
The evening will begin promptly at 5:30 as guests are piped in by Thompson McConnell, followed by a social time with music by fiddler, Tom Knapp. A traditional haggis ceremony, led by Donald Henderson Jr, will follow ending with a toast of Scotch. A supper buffet of haggis, Angus beef, Scottish red lentil soup, neeps and tatties, salad, trifle and shortbread will be served. After supper guests will be invited to honor the life of Rabbie Burns with speeches, readings and toasts. Charlie Zahm will present "A Tribute to Robert Burns", a show sure to captivate you! Guests will be invited to gather around the piano to sing Burns songs to conclude the evening.
Beale Manor, a stunning, Victorian style mansion house was built in 1813 by John Parke, founder of Parkesburg, and reconstructed in 1896 by iron master Horace Beale.
We hope you will join us for this festivity to celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns. The fee for this fundraising event includes food, drink (Scotch, beer and wine) and entertainment.
