You are invited to take the first step in celebrating San Marco's Centennialby becoming a member of the San Marco Preservation Society (SMPS).
Please consider joining our mission to preserve, protect, and renew San Marco as an area of historical and architectural significance. Our joint efforts today will benefit residents, local businesses, visitors, and supporters for generations to come.
Through your financial support and participation, SMPS maintains and enhances San Marco's beauty and works to protect the historicity of the community we all know and love. For nearly five decades, the SMPS has worked hard to provide a wide range of services, including free events, landscaping, park improvements, preservation advocacy, historic markers, zoning guidance, and local event space.
Join the Community
San Marco is made all the better by diverse voices working in harmony. Saying 'yes!' to an annual SMPS membership is a great way to connect with your neighbors and become an active participant in your community.
Get Involved
Your participation and support ensure that your interests as a member of this historic community are heard and valued. All SMPS members are invited to the annual general meeting in May and are eligible for board membership. Through SMPS membership, board service, and volunteerism, residents of San Marco have representation in City Hall to advocate on the neighborhood’s behalf.
Stay Informed
Membership also puts you in the know. The SMPS monthly e-newsletter is your ticket to the latest news related to events, zoning and legislative affairs, and other important matters that affect our community. Catch up on recent news at smpsjax.com/gazebo-gazette and follow SMPS on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Volunteer
San Marco would not be the popular destination it is today without the countless hours of amazing volunteers who have contributed to the SMPS's mission. As a nonprofit, the SMPS is led by a Board of Directors and Executive Director, but we operate on volunteer power. Your time and expertise are the lifeblood of the organization. Help us instill a sense of community pride and look for volunteer opportunities via the form on our website, social channels, and e-newsletters.
