Please keep an eye out for forthcoming emails, which will provide an orientation to the association and invite you to upcoming meetings and initiatives. Whether you are a returning or first-time member, we welcome and encourage you to bring your ideas and concerns to our attention, and hope to work together on collaborative solutions. You can learn more about the rock stars serving on the MALEM Executive Board in the flyer attached. Our vision is to provide a voice for emergency managers in the State of Maine. This includes municipal, county, nongovernmental organizations, and the private sector. We feel that the profession of Emergency Management is a vital partner in public safety and one that needs much greater recognition and understanding by our elected officials, our public safety partners, and the community. Our objectives for 2025 are to review and refine our administrative and communication processes to ensure sustainability, expand member networking, training, and engagement opportunities, and to advance the profession of emergency management through scholarship, recognition and advocacy.  We hope that you will have an opportunity to participate in our virtual meetings, where we convene to hear from guest speakers and discuss in-progress and upcoming association initiatives. Additionally, you can join us in person at the Maine Partners in Preparedness Conference annually, where we will be hosting a networking mixer! Additionally, there are a number of exciting initiatives led by our committees. If you are interested in meeting MALEM members and assisting (as your time permits), we’d love to discuss ways you can get involved through these committees! We accomplish most of our business virtually leveraging volunteers, which allows us to keep our annual membership dues at the low figure of $20. Please ensure that we always have the current e-mail address you wish us to use to correspond with you.
