WeCode KC presents game development with Scratch! The sky is the limit as we explore concepts in gaming and technology for a hands-on journey that merges fun, learning, and coding. This class is for students ages 7 - 12, and is designed to give new learners a chance to use visual-oriented block-based coding, which helps them understand how coding components create movement and fun.

IMPORTANT! You are signing up for a 10-week class that will take place EVERY SATURDAY UNTIL June 14, 2025 (except Memorial Day weekend).

Students will build on the skills they learn each week in class, culminating in a final project.

WeCode KC believes that coding is like sports: the more you practice, the better you get! Therefore, we ask that you and your student commit to attending every week, and to please notify WeCode KC if you are not able to come.

Enrollment for Spring classes ends April 5!

Students ages 7 - 12 are welcome to attend this class. If you are unsure if your student is ready, we recommend that students possess the following basic skills to succeed in our classes:

• able to use a computer keyboard and mouse
• able to read and understand short sentences
• able to sit still and focus for at least 45 minutes

We aim to provide a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for every student who wants to learn. If you have a student who is eager to attend classes but does not meet the above criteria or has special needs, ADHD, ASD, or other conditions that might be disruptive to the instructor or the other students, please come to class with your student. While WeCodeKC strives to serve all students interested in coding, IT, and web development, our instructors are dedicated professionals who work in their respective fields and volunteer to teach. They are not professional educators. We appreciate your help in making WeCodeKC's classrooms safe and welcoming for all!
