District 23 Junior Umpire Program

Whether a high school athlete, or not, becoming a junior umpire in a local Little League program offers teens a way to grow their self-esteem and gain experience in a challenging role for 13-17 year old's to learn leadership, responsibility, and accountability. Skilled umpires are in high demand at all levels all over the country. This is a solid foundation for a great part-time job in college too.

  • All clinics and classroom instruction is free. Umpire experience is not needed, we will train you.
  • Set your own schedule of availability, choose when to work.
  • Earn Community Service hours for High School!
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the game and improve your skills as a player.
  • Earn Extra Money!!!

District 23 Board Leadership is in complete support of this program. We will be working with the individual leagues to create opportunities, rewards, and recognition for Junior Umpires. There will be increased pressure on parents and spectators to behave appropriately and any abuse towards umpires will be addressed.
