Organ Concert: Owen Metz

Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver

An exciting young performer (and onetime summer scholarship student) returns to Denver for a wide-ranging program on the historic organ at Trinity Church. Selections will include J.S. Bach's Prelude and Fugue in E minor ("Wedge"), Louis Vierne's "Naïades" from the 24 Pièces de Fantaisie, Percy Whitlock's Fantasie Choral No. 1, and Max Reger's Fantasia über den Choral "Wie schön leucht' uns der Morgenstern." Having studied organ with Ken Mervine and piano with Stephen Fiess in Denver, Owen is now studying organ with Jonathan Moyer at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio. He was the second-prize winner in the 2023 AGO Southwest Regional Competition for Young Organists. Free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $20 per adult (at the door using cash, check, PayPal, or credit card).
