Raising Awareness & Fostering Inclusion Since 2017
Our Mission
The mission of Speed for Need is to raise awareness and foster inclusion of those with a special need through participation in fitness events supported by the men of F3 Nation.
We push Track Commanders (riders with a special need) in customized racing wheelchairs to help them participate in and complete fitness events such as 5Ks, 10Ks, or marathons – experiences that they would not be able to have on their own.
Speed for Need
The Sweet Fun Run was developed by four friends in tenth grade that love all sports! After Alex and Logan DuBois took a Sports in Society class taught by Mr. Savicki at the Community School of Davidson, they quickly recognized how fortunate they are to play football, soccer, golf, disc golf, track and more. Logan and Alex recruited their buddies Logan Cain and Owen Hamilton to help figure out something they could all do. Together, they developed The Sweet Fun Run!
In its first year, they raised almost $2,000 for charity!
For 2024, these four boys enlisted their buddy Colby Thompson and they turned
The Sweet Fun Run into a club at the Community School of Davidson.
They meet monthly to teach underclassmen how to put this event together so
The Sweet Fun Run will continue after they graduate in 2025.
Please join us for The Sweet Fun Run on March 15, 2025. If you can't make the run a donation can be made directly to Speed for Need. All proceeds go directly to the organization.
Thank you to our Sponsors!
