Madison is home to a vibrant and diverse Korean American community. The Korean American Day Planning Committee is thrilled to host our second annual celebration, uplifting Madison's Korean and Korean American communities.
Please join us for our second annual Korean American Day on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM at IBEW Local 159 in Madison (5303 Fen Oak Drive) for an afternoon of cultural connection and festivities. Building on the success of our first event, which brought together over 170 attendees and raised $2,811.13 in donations for the Madison Public School Foundation that went towards AAPI Educational Programing for Madison Schools K-12 and Lake View Elementary for their Hmong Immersion School.
This year’s celebration will feature an energetic performance, sangmo pangut by the Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago ensemble, songs from the Korean Gagok Ensemble, contemporary dance, taekwondo demonstrations, and kid performances. Bring your family and friends to enjoy delicious food and kid-friendly activities for a day immersed in rich cultural experiences.
Korean American Day is a cherished opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate cultural diversity, and unite our community. To ensure the event’s success, we rely on the generosity of supporters like you. This year, we are pleased to direct donations to AMASIAN. This nonprofit organization fosters connections among Asian American professionals and allies supporting AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) communities. AMASIAN works tirelessly to promote cultural exchange, education, and technical assistance and help build inclusive practices across communities. Click here to learn more about AMASIAN.
The event is free to attend; traditional dress attire is optional, and donations are suggested. Click here to donate. All donations are tax-deductible, as AMASIAN is a registered 501(c)(3). Upon donation, you will receive a tax deduction letter.
We look forward to celebrating with you and honoring the richness of Korean culture together. Let’s make this a day of joy, unity, and inspiration for all!
