The Martin Luther King Observance Committee (MLKOC) invites you to join us in commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The MLKOC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is “to educate, inspire, and motivate people of all races, religions, ethnicities, social and economic classes, political affiliations, ages, and genders to embrace the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for a ‘beloved community’ that seeks social justice, equality in education, employment and housing, personal freedom, peace and harmony among all people.”
To affect our mission, we have chosen to emphasize the distribution of scholarships to graduating high school seniors and matriculated students continuing their education. We are committed to identifying talented young men and women who are embracing the ideals and principles of Dr. Martin Luther King as they pursue their educational and professional aspirations. Since the inception of our scholarship program in 2016, we have awarded $155,000 to 114 deserving scholars with another $10,000 in scholarships planned for distribution as part of our continuing scholars program launched in 2024.
