This event gathers together community members who are dedicated to supporting local nursing scholars. The Dr. Kupiri Ackerman-Barger African American Nursing Research Scholarship will be awarded to a graduate scholar conducting or presenting nursing research/projects that have a focus/aim on African American health and the disparities that exist in the community. Several scholars, licensed vocational nursing students to graduate prepared nursing students, will receive the Capitol City Black Nurses Association Scholarship aimed at mitigating financial hardship and recognizing community service.
