"Of Wind and Waves" is a documentary that delves into the extraordinary life of Woody Brown, a 92-year-old adventurer, innovator and surfing legend, who profoundly impacted the world of sailing and soaring. This film highlights Woody's significant contributions to the surfing world, including pioneering modern surfing techniques and his deep bond with the Hawaiian surfing community. Alongside his surfing achievements, Woody is celebrated for inventing the modern catamaran and setting world gliding records. His life story weaves through personal triumphs and sorrows, including the profound loss of his wife and the eventual reunion with his estranged son. This narrative and archival footage not only captures Woody's adventurous spirit, generosity and simplicity but also portrays the rich Hawaiian culture and the enduring spirit of aloha. Woody's journey is a testament to the impactful fusion of surfing with a life lived in harmony with nature and offers an insightful look into healthy aging and cross-cultural appreciation.
