The Isla® HBCU Classic is an inaugural three-day event celebrating diversity and excellence in gymnastics and cheerleading. Organized by The Isla® Foundation and Brown Girls Do Gymnastics, the event aims to foster inclusion and provide competitive opportunities for marginalized athletes.

About Brown Girls Do Gymnastics
BGDG is at the forefront of HBCU Gymnastics as it is the entity that launched each of the current HBCU Gymnastics Programs.
After 8 consecutive years of the Brown Girls Do Gymnastics conferences, 6 Camps, dozens of celebrity-endorsed campaigns, and a comprehensive advocacy research study from The Doug Williams Center, we know that now is the time for HBCUs to get involved.
That’s why BGDG has created the Alliance, a network of innovative institutions and exclusive resources cultivated to build pathways for Black and Brown gymnasts to thrive in athletics and academics.
The HBCU Gymnastics Contenders
- Fisk University: Launched the first HBCU Intercollegiate Women's Artistic Gymnastics Team in 2022, achieving national recognition with gymnast Morgan Price winning the USAG Collegiate National Championship in 2024.
- Wilberforce University: Set to debut its gymnastics team in January 2026, Wilberforce took up the helm for the gymnasts who were displaced after Talladega College concluded their gymnastics program and began their team a year early. Continuing the legacy of diversity and inclusion in collegiate gymnastics, Wilberforce is ready to make a name for itself.
The NCAA Gymnastics Guest Team
- Greenville University: Lead by Head Coach Anique Grenier, Greenville is a fairly new program and has pledged their support to HBCU Gymnastics and to Wilberforce University Gymnastics Team. We can't wait to host them at our Inaugural Isla® HBCU Classic!
