Our Authors Study Club of Los Angeles, Inc. (OASC) hosts its Annual Official Black History Month Bus Tour ! The tour follows the historical and cultural contributions of the African American community in Los Angeles. It includes El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument where the Founders Plaque acknowledges that 26 of the 44 pobladores, founding settlers, were of African descent. The tour follows the progress of the African American community in Los Angeles. It includes the Biddy Mason Wall, Sugar Hill, the Island, Central Avenue, Leimert Park and other locations throughout the city.
Our Authors Study Club of Los Angeles, Inc. is a branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, Inc., founded in 1915 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, Father of Black History. This year is the 80th anniversary of OASC and the 75th African American Heritage Month observance in Los Angeles through the partnership of Our Authors Study Club of Los Angeles, Inc. and the City of Los Angeles.
