WeDo 2.0 Adventure Builders Class

Age Group: 5-8 years old

Class Description:Welcome to the WeDo 2.0 Adventure Builders Class! In this exciting and hands-on course, young engineers will embark on a journey to build and program their favorite characters and machines using the WeDo 2.0 robotics kit. This class is designed to spark creativity, enhance problem-solving skills, and introduce basic concepts of engineering and programming.

Samples of What We'll Build:

Bowser from the Super Mario Universe:
- Build the fearsome and fun Bowser from the Super Mario games. Learn how to bring Bowser to life with moving parts and interactive features using the WeDo 2.0 kit.
Marvel's Iron Man:
- Create your very own Iron Man model, complete with light-up features and moving arms. Discover how to program Iron Man to perform cool actions and save the day!
NASA's Rover Perseverance:
- Dive into the world of space exploration by building the Rover Perseverance. Learn how to program the rover to navigate and explore, just like the real one on Mars!

Learning Objectives:

Creativity and Imagination: Unleash your creativity by designing and building unique models.
Basic Engineering Principles: Understand the basics of engineering and mechanics through hands-on building.
Programming Fundamentals: Learn the basics of programming using the WeDo 2.0 software to control and animate your models.
Problem-Solving Skills: Enhance critical thinking and problem-solving abilities by troubleshooting and perfecting your creations.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Work together with friends to complete fun building challenges and share your amazing creations.

Release from Liability I hereby give my approval for my child’s participation in any and all activities prepared by Little Engineers during an Event. In exchange for the acceptance of said child’s candidacy by Little Engineers, I assume all risk and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities, and release, absolve and hold harmless Little Engineer, and all its respective officers, agents, and representatives from any and all liability for injuries to said child arising out of traveling to, participating in, or returning from selected activities. In case of injury to said child, I hereby waive all claims against Little Engineers including all coaches and affiliates, all participants, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event. Medical Consent As Parent and/or Guardian of the named camper, I hereby authorize the diagnosis and treatment by a qualified and licensed medical professional, of the minor child, in the event of a medical emergency, which in the opinion of the attending medical professional, requires immediate attention to prevent further endangerment of the minor’s life, physical disfigurement, physical impairment, or other undue pain, suffering or discomfort, if delayed. Permission is also granted to the Little Engineers and its affiliates including Directors, Coaches, and Team Parents to provide the needed emergency treatment prior to the child’s admission to the medical facility. *Our staff is not permitted to dispense medication. Please make arrangements accordingly.*
