Convos with Ashley are in-person discussions led by Ashley Hoskins, Creative Director of The Free Black Women’s Library HTX and Anderson Center For The Arts Artist In Resident. They feature three phenomenal women who have contributed to the canon of Black women's literary expression by archiving books and/or writing. These events will be held at the Anderson Center for the Arts during February, March, and April 2025. They are free to attend with registration. Following the conversations, there will be a social hour so that attendees can engage with the featured guests.

Nicole Ellis is an award winning journalist, author, filmmaker, and digital media pioneer serving as the first ever digital anchor for a Nightly News TV Show at PBS NewsHour, creating the Washington Post’s first original documentary series, “Should I Freeze My Eggs?” and co-creating the most viewed series in the history of The Washington Post’s women’s vertical, “The New Normal.” Nicole’s accolades include the Digiday Publisher’s award, the Edward R. Murrow Award, Webby Awards, Shorty Awards, National Magazine Awards and a National Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Breaking News, among others. She is a proud Afro-Texan and founder of More to The Story Productions, a boutique houston-based production company specializing in documentaries and non-fiction content development.
