Professional Workshop Series: Getting back to the Audition RoomTheatre in the Grove, Forest Grove, Oregon Tualatin Valley Creates (TVC) offers workshops as a way for artists to connect while learning about important and interesting topics. PresentersNik WhitcombNik is a versatile artist and visionary community engagement architect who currently serves as the Producing Artistic Director at Bag&amp;Baggage Productions. Under his leadership, B&amp;B has flourished, earning the prestigious 2024 Organization of the Year Award from the Washington County Chamber of Commerce. Nik’s direction has shaped the company’s critically acclaimed productions, including Red Velvet, World Builders, Tartuffe, and Hard-Boiled Eggnog. He is also a driving force behind B&amp;B’s commitment to building strong partnerships with organizations such as Advance Gender Equity in the Arts and Unite Oregon, fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity within the arts community. In addition to his role at Bag&amp;Baggage, Nik is an accomplished actor with stage credits spanning across the country and made a memorable appearance in the pilot episode of Station Eleven on Max. His extensive background also includes five years of experience as a casting director for theatre, television, and film in Chicago, where he contributed to high-profile projects like Station Eleven, Southside, and the Emmy Award-winning The Bear on FX. Nik Whitcomb’s work continues to inspire both audiences and fellow artists, as he seamlessly blends artistic excellence with a deep commitment to social impact and community engagement. Harrison ButlerHarrison is honored to be Artistic Director of HART. Recent directing credits at HART include the World Premiere of The 'Amazing'  Séance  Sisters,  Brighton Beach Memoirs, Native Gardens and Mornings at Seven. He has a MFA in Theatre with an emphasis in Voice Studies from the University of Texas (UT) Austin, and a BA in Theatre from the University of Northern Colorado (UNCO). While serving as adjunct faculty at UNCO, he received a Director’s Meritorious Award for his direction of Elmer Rice’s The Adding Machine. Harrison taught stage combat during his time at UT and UNCO, and most notably served as the fight choreographer for the world premiere of Re: Psyche at the Blue Theatre in Austin, TX. He loves the Pacific Northwest and enjoys getting out into the woods whenever he can. He is grateful for the support of his sister, her partner and his mother for encouraging his love of the theatrical arts. Jeananne Kelsey Jeananne is a director, designer, actor, and choreographer. She is the current artistic director of Theatre in the Grove, with whom she has been involved with for 20 years. She last directed the the hit Dracula:A Comedy of Terrors at Theatre in the Grove.  In 1969, a creative group of friends with a desire to act pulled together a musical and performed it on a grade school stage. Forest Grove residents responded overwhelmingly and Theatre in the Grove wasborn. It is now one of Oregon’s oldest community theatres. We are celebrating over 50 years in the historic Star Theatre, built in 1912. Zachary CentersZachary  is a director, designer, actor and educator. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Southern Oregon University and a MA in Teaching from Pacific University.
