They aim a camera at your license plate and a computer program immediately determines if you have a permit or not. Now that you have purchased a parking permit, you will not be ticketed. At $25 per year, a Permit C is the cheapest permit and allows you to park in any handicap space in ANY lot. Permit C also allows you to park in Lot C, which only has handicap spaces. A DMV-issued placard or permit must be visible while parked in a handicap space. HOWEVER, you may only park in handicap stalls with a C Permit. If you would like to park in non-handicap stalls, you will need to purchase either a daily, monthly or special weekly permit.The “C” lot is the first lot you see when entering campus from Pershing and Alpine Avenue. It is labeled as Lot 1 and is located between the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center and the Klein Family Baseball Field. This lot is quite a distance rom our dorm (Grace Covell), but you can check it out. What if I don’t know the license number because I will have a rental vehicle or I buy a new vehicle after the deadline? If you want to purchase the SFDC discounted weekly permit, fill out as much of the registration form as possible and explain the situation in the “comments” section. Then, MAKE VERY SURE YOU GIVE SFDC THE RENTAL or NEW VEHICLE LICENSE PLATE INFORMATION AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE (or before if at all possible). This is YOUR responsibility. UOP is making a special concession to SFDC in offering the reduced-rate weekly permits. We must provide them with this information as much in advance as possible. If you forget, it is likely you will receive a parking ticket. If you are not sure which vehicle you will drive, register both under the same pass. But do NOT have both vehicles on campus at the same time. Both vehicles will be ticketed! If you are bringing two vehicles or a trailer and will park them on campus at the same time, BOTH vehicles will need a monthly or weekly pass or a daily permit. What if I entered the wrong license number?You may edit your ONE month permit before the start date, to reflect the corrected license number on your Dashboard. If you purchased the Discounted Weekly Permit, please INFORM THE SFDC REGISTRAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It may be possible to correct the information through UOP. What if I get a Ticket?The instructions for paying the ticket are on the back of the paper ticket. If you feel that you received the ticket in error, see the “Citation Appeal Policies and Procedures” on the ticket.
