GENERAL RULES

  • Dance competition will be governed by the rules and regulations of the RSOBHD.   
  • Advance registration is necessary.  Dancers must enter by May 24, 2025. Any entries received after this date are subject to a $25 late fee and may not be included in the program 
  • No refunds of entry fees will be given. No exceptions.
  • Each Dancer must present a valid 2025 ScotDance registration card. Pre-premier cards will be collected and returned during the awards. 
  • The decision of the adjudicator is final.
  • No one other than the competition committee may communicate with any adjudicator.
  • Age groups will be determined or adjusted as needed at the close of the entry.    
  • Dancers will dance in inverse order of entry (first to enter last to dance) Dancers must appear when their group is called or forfeit their chance to dance in that event.      
  • Dancers must remain in costume to receive awards.
  • Medals, Ribbons and Trophies will be awarded in all pre-premier and pre-championship groups except primary where medals/ribbons only will be awarded. 
  • Cash awards will be awarded for the Championship Event
  • Three month rule: Judges who conduct teaching or coaching classes, seminars or any other forms of tuition (eg by video conferencing), may not adjudicate any competitor who has attended any of these classes for a period of three months after the last class, workshop or any other form of tuition that the competitor has attended. It is the responsibility of the dancer to check on judges prior to the competition. 
  •  Any protest must be submitted in writing to the competition organizer, properly signed and accompanied by a fee of $20. It must be made immediately following the competition. If the protest is sustained the fee will be returned.

Spectators and festival patrons are required to purchase entry into the event. Pre-purchased tickets are offered at a discounted rate and valid for weekend entry into the fair grounds. Tickets will be available at will-call. All competitors receive free entry.
