Cantigas' Spring 2025 concert, Wayfarer, is a prelude to our July tour to Greece for Preveza's International Choir Competition. Inspired by Poor Wayfaring Stranger, our program explores emigration across centuries - the resilience, turmoil, and nostalgia of leaving home, and the metaphorical layers of love and loss in folk traditions. Featuring works like La Paloma, Donal Óg, Sea Wash, and traditional Greek pieces, the concert reflects on migration's emotional and cultural impact. Members of Cantigas will also share personal stories of emigration. We dedicate this performance to all who have journeyed into the unknown in search of a new home.

Cantigas Women's Choir places importance on inclusion and accessibility. If you require an accommodation or assistance to attend the concert, please reach out us at ada@cantigas.net at least 5 days in advance.

This program is made possible in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a division of the Department of State, and administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive & the Hudson County Board of Chosen Commissioners.
