DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR  HIGH  SCHOOL  PROM? The music, the decor, the friends and most of all your gown.In some cases your very first gown. The high school prom is a celebration of a youths academic achievement and the beginning of their launch into adulthood. It is an accolade to their achievements.

These nostalgic memories were not lost on me. In 1998, while preparing my daughter for her prom, I took some time to consider other youth, whose proms were approaching.  Later, that thought was enhanced by my own circumstances and surroundings. During this time I was homeless and living in a shelter, with other struggling families who had teenagers anticipating their proms. I wanted to help in some way.   But what was it they needed in order to attend? They needed the attire. 

When this project first began, I reached out to as many people as I could think of. People gave gowns, money, shoes, etc. I even had people mail me gowns from out of state just to help benefit an attendee. I took those collected items and traveled from high schools to high schools distributing  gowns/ tuxedos , shoes and jewelry from  the trunk of my car. Fast forward it is now 2025 and I want to continue in this same vein, providing the attire this under served population needs.

In order to do this, I need your help. My goal is to provide a minimum of 100 graduating students with the attire needed to participate in this wonderful and well deserved event.  For those of you, like me, who remember your prom and want to help a youth experience the same excitement and joy  you remember, I want to personally thank you in advance for your generosity  and  in being part of this endeavor.
